Gracias Madre
It's fitting to reminisce on my time at Gracias Madre on Mother's Day!
I like anything and anyone that helps me practice my Spanish barks. In my opinion, Gracias Madre is a culinary cultural gem. Not only does this restaurant introduce you to a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, they do it while being health conscious with vegan alternatives for all items on the menu. For everyone who cringes at the word vegan, rest assured you will not be cringing at the food you order from Gracias Madre.
Located in West Hollywood, the food game is fierce. Gracias Madre neighbors other high profile restaurants. My favorite thing about people and things are their ability to be who they are humbly and unapologetically. Im referring to the friend in the corner with all the right to boast but basks in every opportunity to learn and praise others. If you have ever been in the presence of such a person who is authentic, congratulations. If you have a chance to be around them again, take it. That person defines Fancy in my book and in the restaurant world that's what Gracias Madre represents. The energy that resonates from Gracias Madre is special. While visiting, we were seated next to strangers and we left with friends. Along with the friendly environment and pleasant vibes, a table with candles and prayer requests located at the exterior entrance is open for all to participate. Neutral tones and patterns with Santa Barbara style furniture allow for a relaxed dining ambience.
Enough with the bells and whistles, what's fancy enough to eat?! Tortillas and salsa are the backbone of any authentic Mexican restaurant. Gracias Madre has managed to provide both in a vegan recipe. Vegans can now feel normal again. The menu is overloaded main dishes, appetizers, dessert, drinks, it not a one item shop, invite your friends and make the afternoon swell. You can skip the yoga sesh since the energy and calories at Gracias Madre balance out compared to a yoga session after binge drinking on Sunday Funday pretending you have super powers to make Monday never happen.
Monday will happen. Eat at Gracias Madre so you can tell your mom you're making good choices.
Parking is limited, we got a parking ticket from Eric since we parked in street metered parking. Im watching you Eric. I'm watching you.
Stay fancy my friends,
Olive
