Attention all dog parents, fancy isn’t far off! There is finally a resteraunt in downtown LA that doesn’t believe in segregating dog lovers on a far off patio, next to the outhouse, without any shade. Plan Check in downtonown Los Angeles has patioseating incorporated  with the dining area. Now eating with friends and famiy is no longer awkward because you don’t have to ask everyone to sit outside in the 100 degree summer sun because you brought your pooch.

Plan Check can essentially accommodate any party! As you walk in the first dining area, it is divided with partitions to limit the noise level that usually trickles from the bar area. So you can now bring your hollier than thou friends out to eat! aka Becky with the good hair?! Just kidding. Keep calm and Beyoncé. (Even Siri knows, she adds the accent to the e in Beyoncé all by herself). Anyway, this will be a big change from the regular game night and you don't have to host your single friends for once!

After you walk through the first dining area, to the left of you is the bar fully stocked with all your favorite drinks and your wife’s favorite spirits too. Let’s be serious happy wife, happy life. Less important are the TVs that line the walls of the bar area to watch all the interesting man shows like two men fighting in a fenced cage bleeding or men hitting a small white ball with red stitches as far as they can. If you’re feeling civilized, take the right road where tables line the enclosed sidewalk patio with a city view. The table literally straddles between the dining area and the outdoor patio. How amazing is that?! I can’t believe more eateries are not catching on to this floor plan but until they stop being dogist just eat at Plan Check.

Now that we have covered logistics, let’s talk food. Plan Check’s menu was one of the best I have had in LA! The exalamaction mark was to empahize my personal shock. The American Gastropub style menu has never been my favorite but after tonight I am going to give it a second chance. With all the different types of Mac and Cheese it’s hard to think you could like another Mac and Cheese, but try Plan Check’s. The cheese sauce is of perfect consistency not too watery, not too thick. With fried cheese garnished on top which gives it a light crunch and two types of cheese in the dish to keep your taste buds dancing. 

Another favorite item was the Vegeburger, the sausage burger seemed to be a favoriete around us but we tried the vegeburger instead. There needs to be a different category for it because it was delicious and I feel like calling it a vegeburger taints your view on it. I won’t describe it because written on paper the ingredients don’t sound cohesive but words can’t explain how amazing it tastes. May dad got an Old Fashioned and was really impressed, so the bar isn’t only to drink beer and hangout with your boys but for a sophisticated night on the town as well. The night we visited was the Sanrio and Plan Check event and they had a cream soda with whipped cream on top. I thought it was a piece of heaven and my mom refused to leave until she had two.

This is now one of the longest blog posts I have written and I seriously can carry on all night. Do yourself a favor and go to Plan Check because fancy food in a rustic gastropub that can accommodate any party can only be rivaled by Disneyland’s Gumbo but to get that you have to pass the obstacle course of small annoying humans so Plan Check wins!
