Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food with my groupies Ash, Deej, and Greyson. I hope my posts spark your own adventures to share with me!

Stay fancy my friends,

Olive the Fancy Frenchie

Andaz Scottsdale

Let’s get back to focusing on the important parts of my life and that’s going to fancy places and doing fancy things. Sorry about my moms ranting and ravings about life. It’ll come out from time to time because she knows the password to this account.

I’m actually allergic to dust, I’ve taken a tried and true test from the doctor and he’s confirmed it. Having to keep dust is a chore with my dirty brother who brings dust in and sheds like a Heyna. The only time I can tolerate the dust and dry heat is when I’m at the Andaz in Scottsdale. Think Palm Springs but more bouchée and without the tourists and Inland Empire “locals”. True story, Scottsdale is a more exclusive desert oasis.

Locating the the newly opened resort is a little off the beaten path, since it’s located behind a shopping center and apartments but it boasts all the amenities and luxury of a five star hotel. You’ll know you’ve driven to the right place when you see the mid century modern lobby area lit up in all its glory and valet car port right in front. A key thing I love  about hotels is it’s ability to blend comfort, function and style to mimic home feels.

Andaz Scottsdale does this seamlessly especially for the mid-century modern fanatics like my dad. Bunglaw style suites with bright orange doors are clustered on the property around the main pool, and restaurants. Desert landscaping is an all time favorite of mine as it looks manicured, is extemely low maintenance and is appropriate for the terrain. I can’t believe people still have full lawns in the desert as though they live in the Midwest. I need to leave a postcard in their mailbox to say “Helllluuuurrrr this is the desert”.

The serene spa and gym located to West of the resort is perfect for a revival and rejuvenation. Let’s face it you don’t go to the desert for a crazy time, rest, relaxation and restoration is what you’re in search of if you got to Andaz Scottsdale and that’s exactly what the resort was built to provide. With 3 pools on the property, 2 restaurants, and a private patio in each suite you’ll be able to load up on self-care and Vitamin D for the next year.
