My mom turned 30 this year and I've noticed more self-help talk recently as though she needs to improve or become better than who she already is. Frankly, I don't get human women. They call me a bitch like it's a bad thing, but that's what I am and whatever English word you would like to describe me as, go ahead. I know who I am. Humans take offense by names and titles like it changes who they are. The issues lie within the evil person, giving them more treats won't help them. If I'm called a bitch because I am clear about my opinion or intention call it magic for all I care, I'm Olive the F**kin' Fancy Frenchie <Play song from Rockie here>.
I'm dedicating this post to the good humans who are down from all the judging, criticizing, condemning that they do to others and/or themselves. At first I was going to post ways to overcome the disease but scrapped the entire blog that has been sitting in the queue since April to share the book recommendation, "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k" by Mark Manson. At first I was expecting him to look similar to the singer from the 90's who would paint his face all white and wear black clothes so if you're thinking the same thing, it's not the same person. Moving on from the Millennial flashback, this book is a straight forward read geared towards the Millennial generation's evil disease of chronic low self-esteem. I got the book and finished it within 3 days. The title is raw and so is the book.
Tip #1: Don't judge, compare, criticize, condemn.
I placed this recommendation as tip number 1 because it's the hardest to do. Depression rates are rising, my doctorate thesis was on human behavior because Frenchies have no behavioral issues and I believe one main cause is comparison. Our expectations are unreal because comparing is a never ending race. From comparing our bodies, possessions, relationships etc. I hate to break it to you Peter Pan doesn't exist and neither does never never land. My favorite quote of all time is by Theodore Roosevelt, "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are." Integrating this concept is much harder than you think because we are social creatures but changing this habit will allow you to live a richer life.
Tip #2: Implement the subtle art of not giving a F**K
Give zero eff's. My mom won't publish the real word because it's vulgar but really, don't give any eff's.
The main point of the book? Give zero eff's. Duh. My mom won’t let me publish the real word because I have readers of all ages. But Cats and copycats are one and the same. Slinking around not being real with themselves thinking underlying negative thoughts about others and themselves. With sporadic behavior and thoughts, no one would be sane. It's because they aren't staying true to themselves, so externally focused on the environment and others only leads you to lose your own path.
Stay fancy my friends,
Olive the Fancy Frenchie
